FSC Initiates Revision of Trademark Standard: FSC-STD-50-001

FSC® Initiates Revision of Trademark Standard: FSC-STD-50-001

Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) has recently commenced the revision process for its trademark standard, FSC-STD-50-001. This normative document outlines the guidelines and requirements for certificate holders regarding labeling and promotion of their FSC-certified products. To ensure broad participation and gather valuable input, FSC is hosting webinars in both English and Spanish.

The Importance of FSC-STD-50-001

FSC-STD-50-001 forms the foundation for assessment and approval by FSC-accredited certification bodies of all certificate holders’ use of the FSC trademark. It establishes guidelines for the proper use of the FSC logo and trademarks on off-product and on-product materials, ensuring transparency and credibility in the market for FSC-certified products. The standard also plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable forestry practices and supporting responsible management of forest resources.

The Revision Process

FSC recognises the importance of continuous improvement and adaptation to evolving industry needs. Therefore, they have initiated the revision process of FSC-STD-50-001 to address any emerging challenges and incorporate new insights. The aim is to ensure that the standard remains up-to-date and aligned with the latest market demands.

Participate in the Webinar

To facilitate dialogue and gather valuable input from certificate holders, FSC is organising webinars in both English and Spanish. These sessions will provide an opportunity for participants to learn more about the revision process and share their thoughts and suggestions.
